Art you can sit on!

Jack Daniels cushionThe English textile designer William Morris famously said 'Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.' It's something I try to bear in mind as I fight the good fight against random clutter, and it's also a good maxim to bear in mind when it comes to interior design.

If I had it my way, all appliances would be completely wireless and there would be no ugly cables, bins or power sockets anywhere in sight. I try and only have things 'on display' that I genuinely want to look at, as a previous blog post will attest.

So I'm really excited that, for the first time, my designs are available to buy as cushions. Yes, art you can sit on! They are based on a series of photograms I made using bottles and toys, and I've modified them into a set of three cushions that work as a collection or on their own. I'm not really one for floral, overly decorative interiors so I'm really pleased with how these have turned out - and I've bought the 'Jack' one for myself, as narcissistic as that may be!

**Sales pitch alert** I think these would make a great Christmas present for that person who's quite hard to buy for and is into masculine, design-led soft furnishings (and who isn't?). They're really good quality, hand-made in the UK, are a good size (43x43cm – I hate small cushions!) and machine washable, available with or without the insert.

Here's the link to the online store:

They are only available to buy for a limited time, FYI.

PS - If you're not in the market for buying cushions right now, that's cool, but it would be great if you could give click on the link and give that page a like or a tweet.
