Design things You Didn’t Know I Do!Posted on: Oct 18, 2017
I’ve just realised something pretty cool – I have a ‘back catalogue’. Like some kind of Lifetime Achievement award-winning rock band still trying to get away with leather trousers (I not only owned but actually wore a pair of real leather trousers back in the day. Just not very often; they were too bloody warm).
Over the years I’ve racked up such a weird and wonderful body of work, sometimes it’s hard to categorize what I actually do.
If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’ve probably got a good idea of the sort of illustration and design projects I work on (the short answer is: pretty much anything). But if you’ve only just stumbled on my site, or aren’t familiar with my work, there will be things I can help with that you might not be aware of.
So, I’ve put together this little list of ‘Design Things You Didn’t Know I Do’ – you might be surprised!
Large Format Print
I’ve designed a 48-sheet billboard (that’s 3 x 6m to you and me), a very cool window display for Sweet As, and various event signage like pull-up banners and exhibition pods. There’s nothing like seeing your branding in large format!
Bespoke illustration is useful for so many applications, one of which is creating mascots to add character and personality to your brand. You might have seen Merry the Dog around, the cute Jack Russell I designed for Merryhill Accountancy.
Book Cover Design
They say we all have a book in us, which can be especially true for those of us who run a business. If you ever take the plunge and put those pearls of wisdom to paper, I can help with an eye-catching book cover. If you haven’t quite got a book’s worth, I can help with e-books too.
Admittedly one of my newer skill-sets, I enjoy public speaking and find interactive workshops are the best way to get a message across. I hosted a branding workshop earlier in the year and discovered a hidden talent as a quiz show host with the ‘name the brand mascot’ section!
Personalised Wedding Invitations
Creating personalised wedding invitations is a great design job, as it’s all about matching a style to the personality of the Bride and Groom-to-be. Previous designs have included cute cartoon versions of the couple, and intertwined initials with hand-drawn lettering.
Now I’ve enlightened you with this list, you may have an upcoming project in mind that I can help with. If so, get in touch here and we can schedule in a chat.
